Weeks 8 to 10 – 9 / April

As I received a lot of feedback on my project I have been working on reshaping my idea and creating something unique while keeping a similar theme and elements from my previous projects. I am working on creating a virtual maze game using hard tracking to enable individuals suffering from autism to train their processing and motor skills in a challenging yet engaging way. As backed by my research, kids suffering with autism seem to great value in dance classes as it trains their motor skills while giving them something to put their energy into, similar to that I am seeking to create an outlet for said individuals to train their skills at the same time from the comfort of their homes. While researching I have found that yes, there are games out there on the Appstore or on websites directed towards the same group of people as my project, but after playing some of them I believe my project stands out as all other games seem to require good motor skills to be able to accurately handle a mouse, or to hold a tablet. My project aims to be a hands free brainteaser game and motor skill training game, and I am have come to the conclusion that a project like this would be an extremely valuable and welcome addition to the arsenal of both the caretakers but also for the kids themselves.

I am achieving this through the creation of a virtual maze game. Using the media pipe library and open cv. Bellow are a few screenshots of my projects design and creation process.

Using mouse positions to create the mazes and microsoft paint to design them

Experimenting with different ways of going about the project( using pygame in this screenshot) and drawing objects on the screen

Implementing Mediapipe and interactivity between the balls that would need to be guided through the maze.
